We set out to build a cloud. We ran into this first.
Twing started as an attempt to build an AI-native small software cloud — the kind of place we wanted to run our own software on, and still do. Building it, we ran into a problem before we ran into almost anything else: collaboration hasn't kept up with how AI-native teams actually build.
Our story
We didn't set out to build a coordination tool. We set out to build a cloud — a small, AI-native place to run software, built and operated largely by agents, that we intended to use ourselves. We still do.
What we found, almost immediately, was that the hardest part wasn't the cloud itself. It was that as soon as more than one agent touched our own codebase, coordination broke down in ways the industry hadn't really had to solve before. We went looking for something that already solved it — a tool, a pattern, anything. It didn't exist. So we set out to build it ourselves, and Twing became the thing we needed before we could finish the thing we set out to build.
Our team
Twing is founded by Mahul Bhattacharya. We're a remote-first team, distributed across San Francisco, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, having held engineering and leadership roles at Google, DeepMind, and Flipkart before this. We believe in big, ambitious ideas — and in having fun while we chase them.
